Sieglitzer Berg forest park

Sieglitzer Berg forest park

After 1777, Prince Franz von Anhalt-Dessau had a forest park with a small neoclassical palace built to the west of Vockerode.

You enter the park through artistically designed gates, which incorporate the natural tree growth into the design to a large extent. In this "forest solitude" you will find a small neoclassical palace in the shape of a Roman temple: the "Solitude". The inscription above the entrance, "Der Besserung", reveals the building's former use as a spa for Prince Franz's rheumatic complaints. It probably also served as a meeting place for secret diplomatic negotiations.
