Großkühnau Castle and Landscape Park
The Grosskühnau Landscape Park is the most recent addition to the Dessau-Wörlitz Garden Kingdom (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The palace is now home to the Dessau-Wörlitz Cultural Foundation.
At the entrance is the Knights' Gate with the larger-than-life statues of Mars and Venus as well as Theseus and Ariadne.
The vineyard house (built in 1819/1820 by C.I. Pozzzi) forms the focal point of the spacious grounds with its small-scale architecture. From this hill, you can look out over Lake Kühnau. Kühnau Park and the lake form an idyllic ensemble with the neo-Romanesque church and Kühnau Castle, home to the Dessau-Wörlitz Cultural Foundation.
