UNESCO Bauhaus buildings Dessau
From the Kornhaus restaurant in the north, to the Bauhaus building and the Masters' Houses, to the Dessau-Törten estate in the south - Dessau has more original Bauhaus buildings than any other city. The most significant are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The Bauhaus experienced its most successful period in Dessau. Here, between 1925 and 1932, the School of Design tested the city of tomorrow. What the Bauhaus built and lived here had model character.
On a tour across Dessau, these model houses of modernism can be rediscovered. The visitors learn more about their architecture, their use and their inhabitants and can directly experience the essence of the Bauhaus buildings. In this way, the buildings themselves become exhibition objects.
