Construction work on the R1 European cycle route in Bad Gandersheim

In Bad Gandersheim (Northeim district, Lower Saxony), the stretch of the R1 between the building of the former Vitalpark and the access road to the game reserve (Skulpturenweg) has been closed to pedestrians and cyclists since the end of February 2025.

The reason for the closure is safety measures on a bridge structure. A detour around the area via the Habichtsfang/Fasanenweg roads is signposted. The duration of the closure is until further notice.

Construction work on the R1 European cycle route in the Salzland district

In the Salzland district in Saxony-Anhalt, the R1 European cycle path between Roschwitz and Ballberge near Bernburg (Saale) is being completely upgraded. The construction work is due to be completed in April 2025. A detour is signposted.

Upgrading work will also continue between Baalberge and Kleinwirschleben until summer 2025. However, this will not affect the current route of the R1 European Cycle Route. After completion, the route will be relocated to the newly upgraded route.

In the town of Hecklingen OT Gänsefurth, the Bodevorland/Grabenbrücke bridge is closed. A local bypass has been set up right next to the structure.

Construction work is also currently underway on the Bode bridge in Neugattersleben and is expected to continue until October 2025. A detour is signposted.

Bauarbeiten am Europaradweg R1 im Landkreis Wittenberg

Ab dem 26.05.2026 werden im Landkreis Wittenberg im Bereich des Europaradweges R1 zwischen der Kreuzung Grüntalmühle und dem Teuchler Weg Untersuchungen durchgeführt. Im Bereich der Fahrbahn wird es zu punktuellen Einschränkungen kommen. Diese können entweder umfahren werden oder erfordern, dass das Fahrrad an der Baustelle vorbeigeschoben wird.
